Our Business:
“Auto Academy” is a family run company engaged in the training
and education of the general public in safe road usage. Our core business
is the training of drivers of B licence vehicles at various levels of competence.
In addition we provide theory-based education to non-vehicle users and those
preparing for future education in motoring skills.
Our Mission Statement:
“Auto Academy” will provide to our clients, the best possible
service at all times. All clients will be treated with absolute respect,
with courtesy and discretion. All queries will be dealt with honestly and
promptly. We will treat all those who interact with our business, clients
and non-clients alike as we would wish to be treated ourselves.
Our Charter:
Your trainer:
Will be fully qualified to carry out our agreed business. His sole objective
will be to provide the best possible level of training and to advise you
to the best of his abilities. He will be clean, smart and polite. He will
treat you with respect, as an adult and will be patient and courteous at
all times.
The Car:
The car supplied by Auto Academy will be fully suitable to the required
task. It will be adapted in accordance with training requirements. It will
comply fully with the legal requirements for a vehicle to be used in public,
it will be fully maintained, road worthy and clean. Training in the client’s
car will be provided subject to vehicle suitability and client ability-
the client agrees both aspects are at the trainers’ discretion. In
the event that a client provides an unsuitable car or is not at a driving
standard to safely progress a lesson in that car, Auto Academy will offer
the alternative of the school car, declining this offer will result in a
lesson forfeit.
Documentation:
Your trainer will have in his possession his valid driving licence, his
A.D.I. registration certificate and will display his company identification
badge at all times.
It is a requirement of law that all drivers carry a valid licence for the
vehicle they are driving and to this end our clients agree that they will
have this document in their possession for all practical lessons. Our clients
agree that without this legal requirement being fulfilled, that lessons
may not proceed. Clients will where possible be driven to collect their
licence – this driving will be carried out by the trainer and will
constitute lesson time.
Cancellations/Interruption:
Should there be a requirement by Auto Academy to cancel a booked lesson,
we will advise with a minimum of three days notice using the contact details
provided. In circumstances where three days notice is not possible, Auto
Academy will offer an alternative trainer if available, alternative appointment
or a single lesson fee refund at the clients discretion. Where a booking
is accepted and confirmed at less than three days notice this clause will
not apply and an alternative date and time mutually agreeable to both parties
will be arranged.
Our clients will notify of cancellations by Email, phone call or text no
later than two days prior to the appointment. Cancellations of less than
two days notice will result in the loss of that lesson. A refund policy
does not apply to the first single booked lesson. Cancellations of more
than one lesson in a five-lesson course or two lessons in a ten-lesson course
are the agreed maximum where a refund policy applies.
Where lessons are in progress and have to be interrupted due to illness,
accident, breakdown or other emergency – any lost time will be made
good at a time agreeable and suitable to all.
The client agrees that where weather conditions are unsuitable for the training
level in hand an alternate lesson will be arranged. The client agrees that
weather unsuitability decisions are entirely at the trainers’ discretion
Punctuality:
Your trainer will be punctual. In unavoidable delay situations he will endeavour
to make contact with you. In the event that your trainer is up to fifteen
minutes (15) late, that time will be added to your lesson time for that
lesson or if that is unsuitable will be added to another mutually agreed
lesson. Should your trainer be more than fifteen minutes (15) late, the
client at his/her discretion may avail of the lesson or request another
appointment.
The client agrees that late arrival for a lesson by them is deemed to be
training time. Your trainer, subject to his schedule will attempt to be
reasonable in occasional late shows.
Alcohol/Drugs:
Your trainer will never undertake any training while influenced by alcohol
or drugs – legal or illegal. Our policy at all times is zero alcohol/zero
drugs; this is our promise to you. If for medical reasons your trainer is
required to take any substance deemed to influence his abilities to be in
full control, the lesson cancellation policy as outlined above will apply.
Our clients are in full agreement with our alcohol and drugs policy- they
agree without reservation that they will have zero alcohol and drugs levels
while undertaking instruction. Our clients agree that where any doubt exists,
the trainer has absolute discretion to cancel the lesson without refund.
Where a dispute arises in this regard- the client agrees that the trainer
may drive to a Garda station and request that the trainee undergo the statutory
test. It is not envisaged that this situation should arise. Where a client
has taken medication as outlined for the trainer the cancellation policy
outlined above will apply.
Lesson/Training Booking.
Lessons may be booked by phone, writing, Email or text. Written requests,
Emails or texts will be responded to and the lesson booking confirmed. Auto
Academy will endeavour to facilitate your preferred training times.
Payments/Refunds:
“Auto Academy” has a range of rates and discounts depending
on the service our clients require. A full copy of these rates is available
on request. All requests will be dealt with promptly and to assist promptness,
Email is our preferred method of communication. Our price list will be clear
and unambiguous.
Currently “Auto Academy” does not have facilities for online
payment. Payment is accepted by Credit Card, Laser Card, by cleared cheque,
postal order or cash and a payable in full before the lesson takes place.
Cheque payments can only be accepted if payment is cleared prior to the
lesson appointment date. Receipts will be issued.
One off single lessons must be paid for in advance by cash paid in advance
of the lesson, by card, postal order or cleared cheque. Payment by cash
will be accepted for additional single lessons at completion of the booked
lesson. Your card details will not be stored in any format by Auto Academy.Card
details should not be forwarded by Email or text.
Clients agree that with the exceptions of circumstances as outlined above,
that refunds are generally not available. Where a single first lesson is
arranged and cancelled, regardless of the time frame, a refund will not
be requested or available.
Clients agree that where refunds are made a receipt of the refund may be
requested.
Clients agree that where a course of lessons has been booked that a cancellation
of that course will result in payment loss. Our clients agree that course
booking refunds are in accordance with notes above and in particular attention
is drawn to the clause - Cancellations of more than one lessons in a five-lesson
course or two lessons in a ten-lesson course are the agreed maximum where
a refund policy applies.
“Auto Academy” and clients alike agree that a clear unambiguous
arrangement between all parties is in the interest of all. Both parties
agree that partnerships are built of trust and mutual respect. “Auto
